Florida Maternal Mortality Review Committee
In 1996, the Florida Department of Health established the Florida Maternal Mortality Review Committee (Florida MMRC), formerly known as the Pregnancy-Associated Mortality Review (PAMR), to improve surveillance and analysis of pregnancy-related deaths in Florida. This case review program seeks to close gaps in care, identify systemic service delivery issues, and make recommendations to facilitate improvements in the overall systems of care.

FloridaHealthFinder.gov Hospital and Emergency Department Query
This query tool, provided by the Agency for Health Care Administration, shows data by hospital and by county for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department visits.
The tool provides number of visits, average length of stay, total charges and average charges. It also allows data users to filter or sort results by hospital, county, payer, discharge status, diagnosis groups and more.

Infant Mortality Documents and Data
The Maternal and Child Health Section’s Infant Mortality website contains various publications that provide goals and objectives, guidelines, and data pertaining to activities that improve the health of mothers and babies in Florida. The Infant Mortality and Low Birth Weight Rates Compared to Expected Rates by County and Healthy Start Coalition Area reports provide expected statistics calculated to account for differences in maternal education, marital status, and race. Statistical tests are applied to identify the counties and Healthy Start Coalition areas that have statistically significantly higher or lower than expected infant death rates or low birth weight percentages.

Florida Vital Statistics Annual Report
This application makes it easy to access Florida Vital Statistics data. This report includes data on births, deaths, population, and life expectancy.

Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS)
These reports provide local/regional data about women during pregnancy and the perinatal period, including health behaviors and access to care.

This site provides data, tips and tools to use with data for states and families to help guide improvements in community-based systems of care for children and youth with special health care needs.

Youth Risk Behavior Survey
This site provides information about the statewide prevalence of obesity and asthma among Florida’s youth and young adults. It also includes youth health-risk behaviors that contribute substantially to the leading causes of premature death, disability, and social problems. Information for some of Florida’s larger counties can be found on the CDC's website.

Application for Scholars to Request Vital Statistics Data for Research Supporting Public Health
On this page you will find information about requesting access to Florida Vital Statistics data. Each application is judged on its scientific merit, methodology, data security procedures, benefit to the Florida Department of Health (DOH) and the public, and consistency with epidemiologic research goals of Florida Statute 381.0032. Requests for confidential data will only be granted in cases where the project meets the aforementioned criteria and no other practical means of completing the project exists.
