Salmonellosis 
Salmonella is a bacteria that makes people sick. The illness people get from a Salmonella infection is called salmonellosis. Most people infected with Salmonella develop diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps between 12 and 72 hours after infection. The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days, and most individuals recover without treatment.  Avoiding contaminated food and water is the main way to prevent salmonellosis.

Salmonellosis Disease is monitored to prevent and control outbreaks.

In 2022, the rate per 100,000 of Salmonellosis in Alachua County was 19.3 compared to Florida at 31.5. The line graph shows change over time when there are at least three years of data.
