Data Notes
Source: Population estimates are provided by the Florida Legislature's Office of Economic and Demographic
Research (EDR). Population data shown on CHARTS and EDR's website may not agree, since EDR revises
its population estimates each year for all data years, including prior years, and CHARTS prior year population
data are not revised.
Age-group data is provided by EDR in 5-year intervals (e.g. 0-4, 5-9, 10-14 etc.). Individual year of age populations
are calculated by dividing the 5-year totals by 5. Data for the <1 population are derived from birth and infant death data,
instead of dividing the 0-4 population by 5. Data for the 1-4 population are derived by subtracting the <1 population based
on birth and infant death data from the 0-4 population provided by EDR. The difference is then divided by 4 to produce
estimates for individuals age 1, 2, 3, and 4.
1Ages 0 to 99 will display population for all age groups. All ages over 85 are
classified as 99.
2Population estimates for Hispanic and Non-Hispanic populations are not available prior to 2004.
32007-2013 population estimates are subject to change. Population estimates from earlier time periods will not change on this site.
